Hello October 1st! And the first bout of fall
illness (booooo).
Since I think I bored you all to tears last week with my
WILW I’m back to confessions with Kathy this week.
Plus you get my altered-mind status due to the copious amounts of DayQuil, Mucinex, ibuprofen and other drugs. I feel like any time I’m sick I’m the worst version of loopy you could imagine thus the thoughts of my sick brain (sick thoughts).
Ok so here we go…my confessions this week…
Last Thursday the Blake Shelton concert posed the hardest
night of soberness thus far. I mean do you know how many drinking songs he
has?! There I was, cheersing with my Coke Zero. Super lame. Still I’ve made it
this far so I might as well see this sober thing through to the end. Meeting my
friends at the bar beforehand probably wasn’t the best idea either. Temptation
- beginning to end - the whole night. Wooofta. But I made it!
Speaking of booze, does NyQuil count? Because if so my
challenge went downhill Saturday. Surely necessary medication doesn’t ruin all
the weeks I’ve gone so far… right?
While we’re on the sick note, being sick makes me throw all self-control
(other than the booze) out of the window. Give me all the food! Why? Because I’m
sick. Give me all the online shopping! Why because I’m sick, and I had 50% off.
Give me a break will you, I’M SICK. Jeez. Pity only allowed.
I’ve hit a wall when it comes to Halloween. I don’t want to
dress up. I bet all you blogger friends
are yelling at me the same way my IRL friends did and think I’m nuts. I’m sorry
but I’m 26 and I feel like if I don’t dress up it won’t be the end of the
world. Sure this could still be the sick talking – maybe by the end of the
month (or this virus) I will want to dress up #dontholdyourbreath
I sort of want to spend this entire week in bed. Because Monday
(sick day) was awesome. I slept, watched Frozen, slept, watched Say Yes to the
Dress and you guessed it, slept some more. Oh and stuffed my face… Really I
think a week of that would cure my non-motivation on the work front for a
while. Can I have it pleeeaaasse?
Ok I’m out. Time to take dose two of necessary meds and down
some of my homemade soup.
Mmmmmmmmmm.
Happy Hump Day Amigos.
TTFN,
Oh girl i won't yell at you. I am the halloween equivalent of the grinch. I hate it. HATE IT! Everything to do with it from the decorations to the stupid nail art to the the kids ringing my doorbell making my dog bark and asking for free candy. Man, I became a grouchy old woman :)
ReplyDeletehaha that's how my Monday and Tuesday were, just because. We went to Monday night football and then didn't go to work. I sorta wish I had the Nyquil buzz going those two days now :)
ReplyDeleteFEEEELLLL BETTTER!!!!!!! Love the Jasmine gif, hilarious!
ReplyDeleteI wasn't the biggest fan of dressing up after college. It just seemed like SUCH a hassle and a waste of money.
I totally let myself do whatever I want when I'm sick too, hey we deserve it!! I hope you feel better! And like Donna from Parks and Rec says: Treat yo'self!
ReplyDeleteOh man! SO sorry you're sick, girl! Hope you feel better soon.
ReplyDeleteI haven't dressed up for Halloween for about 4 years now, and I'm totally ok with that.
um, i haven't dressed up for halloween in years because i'm 38 LOL
ReplyDeletethanks for linking up!

Vodka and Soda
Feel better girl! Nyquil only counts if you are a full blown alcoholic... you're good.
ReplyDeleteAwww! I'm a little bit sick too. Just a sore throat and runny nose and stuff, so nothing too bad that requires meds! I'm sorry you're under the weather :(
ReplyDeleteAnd great job for making it through the Blake Shelton concert. That would have been super hard for me too!!
boo for being sick! I definitely use it to justify all the things too... I hope you feel better!!!
ReplyDeleteIt seems that everyone is getting sick right around now! I've been sick for the better part of 2 weeks - but I blame that on standing in downpour at a concert.
ReplyDeleteMy mom asked me if I was dressing up for Halloween and she sounded like I told her our dog died because I said no. She said "why wouldn't you??" "Because I don't have friends down here mom THAT'S why!!"
Hope you're feeling better soon!
Hope you feel better!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel better!!! What a nice welcome from the new season: a cold. :) Doze off on some good Nyquil, purple drank and have a great weekend Laura! Feel better -Iva
ReplyDeleteBeing sick is THE WORST! Hope you feel better soon!
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry your sick! I'm kinda feeling something crappy coming on too...Hopefully it passes soon! I'm also a bit of a Halloween Scrooge. I just don't have a lot of enthusiasm when it comes to dressing up and eating junk. Watching Hocus Pocus should be enough, right?
