My Fall Bucket List

It's here! It's here! Fall is official y'all.

I know I'm a day late, but I was busy #hashtaghumday-ing yesterday. #prioritiesok?

And in true, basic white girl, blogger cliche form, I'm going to share my fall bucket list and/or goals with you today.

 1 | Try a Pumpkin Spice Latte
You heard right, I've never had a PSL. Ever. Sure I love me some pumpkin and I've had a PSC (pumpkin spice chai) but since this is really the first fall  I've really drank coffee I'm excited to try this "phenomenon" that so many basic ladies are infatuated with.

2 | Create Gunner's Halloween Costume
He technically already has one (Taco!) but my mom and I are dressing up our dogs for our favorite local charity walk, See Spot Walk. Each year they have a doggie costume contest. So we decided, in light of the upcoming movie (FAN GIRL SQUEALS!) that we are doing Star Wars theme. Gunner is going to be Chewy and Bailey (my parents' dog) is going to be Princess Leia. Don't worry, my mom and I are also dressing in theme and may or may not have bought these sweet hoodies

3 | Clean Up and  Prep the Yard for Winter
I'm basically the worst homeowner ever. I have yet to correctly prep my rosebushes for a winter and I have no clue how to properly cut/prep the remaining bulb plants that are still green in the yard (iris). This year I am determined to actually do things so that my plants come back happy and healthy next spring. I also want to plant more bulbs and rake leaves in a timely matter (instead of after it's already snowed).

This is how leaf raking usually goes
4 | Make my own Blanket Scarf
If you haven't seen this trend yet, you might be living under a rock. It's all the rage, but they are also very spendy. Since I am all about saving money these days, I can't wait to make my own via Becoming a Heath's DIY Blanket Scarf tutorial. You're welcome friends. You can now make one in every color.

5 | Work on my DSLR skills
I've had my new camera for almost a year now and I still shoot most everything on auto mode. It's depressing. Fall is such a good time to shoot photos (lighting, colors, everything) so I hope to get some serious photo-shooting and learning in.

6 | Do Something for Halloween
This will be the BF and my 5th Halloween together. Yet we have never had a couple costume and have only spent one Halloween together. I need to get that changed ASAP.  At least on the doing something together side of it - a couple costume may still be pushing it.

Our only Halloween spent together. I still don't know what he was. The Corona bottle was one of my faves though!

7 | Carve Pumpkins
I didn't get around to this last year and it made me sad. It's one of my favorite fall traditions!

8 | Visit Moscow for my Baby Sister's 21st Birthday
Words cannot describe my excitement. I will be traveling to my college town to celebrate with my sister and her friends, and my best friend is tagging along too. Best weekend ever.

9 | Purge the Closet
It's getting bad people. Overflowing. I am a hoarder at heart and I have a very tough time getting rid of anything that still fits. That's not saying everything in my closet still fits though, I really need to take a weekend and cut my clothing hoard in half. I'm thinking about selling stuff on ebay. Does anyone have any tips? Would you buy my stuff?
Nine seems good for this 9th month of the year. There should probably be some stuff about eating healthy and working out in there too - we'll see about that.

What's on your fall bucket list?

  4. I tried a PSL once just to see what all the hype was about - I found it terribleeee! I didn't get around to carving any pumpkins last year either and that made me really sad :( And I'm right there with you with the camera thing - hasn't came out of auto mode even once haha.

Can't wait to see the pictures of the doggies in their costumes - too cute!

  6. Yes to all of these things!!!! I am going to be quite honest. I had a PSL yesterday and it wasn't near as good as I remember them being. Maybe my tastes have changed? I don't know. But prepare for a little disappointment.

  7. No, PSL's are not where it's at! I tried one a few weeks ago because I, too, wanted to be basic. It didn't work for me, but maybe the new graham cracker latte is going to be the love of my life! I am already in need of another closet purge even after getting rid of 75% of my closet. I over-estimated what I'd need in the move when really all I like to wear around the house is the guy's boxers and soft t-shirts!

  8. The one time I had a PSL I thought it tasted like soap. That was a few years ago. Michael got a pumpkin spice frap though and I tried it and thought that was good. So if the latte tastes like that maybe I'd like it.

I found a couples costume last year that I seriously want to do. I dress like Belle, Michael dresses like a taco...and we're Taco Belle. It's like my goal to do a couples costume one year because I'm super lame and I just want to do it once in my life! Haha.

  9. Looks like a fine list to me! make me a blanket scarf while you're at it. I have no patience for that kinda stuff lately. I bet I could get mt 10 year old to do it though. Hmmmmm....

  10. You are adorable. I am not a PSL fan. Don't kill me. I find it harder to eat healthy during fall because of all the good desserts and pumpkin beer. Life is short, right?

  11. i love this list!! all so doable. i purged my closet about a year ago and it's been wonderful since. prior to that, it looked like i tossed a grenade in there and shut the door!

  13. I need to work on my camera skills, like yesterday. I keep shooting in auto as well, and just haven't taken the time to figure the rest of it out. At least we have adorable dog models to test shoot on. Speaking of which, I can't wait to see this Halloween costume! My dog has picked up a sock stealing habit lately. For Halloween I'm making her a shirt with a bunch of socks sewn on. She gets to be her favorite thing, a sock monster. Thank you again for sharing my post!

  22. I need to practice mroe with my DSLR camera - the manual mode takes adjustment but truly provides better control. :) I think you need to hit that PSL stat. I had two today alone Lol! :) Have a great one Laura! -Iva
