Easy 3 Ingredient Pulled Pork

This is one of my favorite recipes.

Anything I can fix and forget in the good ol' crock pot is a win in my book!

PLUS this only calls for 3 ingredients! (although you will need a few other things to complete and eat :) )

You will need:
1 Large Crock Pot
Cooking spray
Buns to eat the meat on!

Cooking Ingredients:
  • 1 package pork roast of some kind = 3-4 lbs (can be pork roast, pork shoulder or pork butt)
  • 1 big bottle or cans of Dr. Pepper, enough to cover the pork (you can also use root beer!)
  • 1-2 bottles BBQ sauce of your choice, depending on how saucy you like it (I used Sweet Baby Ray's Sweet and Spicy, about a bottle and a half)
Now I apologize I was a bad blogger and did not take pictures of step one...

Instructions:
To start, spray the inside of your crock pot with cooking spray. Set in meat. Pour soda over meat till covered and set crock pot to low. And that's it for the next 8-10 hours!

When you get home from work you should have something that looks like this.

Scoop out the meat and set aside. Dump remaining liquid and wipe out some of the fat remaining in the bottom of the crock pot (it doesn't have to be clean, you are going to put the meat back in).

Your meat should look like this. It should be done enough to fall apart.

With two forks, shred your meat.

Then return meat to crock pot and dump in your BBQ sauce of choice.

My absolute favorite BBQ sauce!
Give it a good stir so it's all evenly covered. I like to put my crock pot on "warm" and let it sit for a little while.

Then dish up! I used whole wheat buns, and I like to add pickles to my sandwich. Pair with a veggie side dish, like a big green salad, and you have great dinner!

That's all she wrote folks! Now go try this recipe :). If you find the best mix of soda and BBQ sauce give me a shout out so I can try your version!
