The Windy City and the Big 2-6

So I am way behind on blogging, and life...
Here are the major things I missed in sharing with you last week and this weekend.

Wednesday I finally arrived home from the IEG Conference in Chicago. It was an amazing experience, but a long time to be away from home. I met some great people and learned about some truly amazing partnerships that are changing the world (and how we sponsorship folks should view things).

Here are some links to those projects, please check them out!
1. How a Futbol club in Brasil is saving lives with organ donation (my fav!)
2. How wind powered electricity is fighting poverty
3. How Coca~Cola supports and inspires the passion surrounding the World Cup with music

I was really impressed by the Windy City - it was far cleaner than I expected and the skyline and architecture were beautiful. However, it never got above freezing while I was there (and it snowed twice!), so my desire to walk around and explore was minimal. New bucket list item though - summer trip to Chicago!  Here's some pictures in case you missed them on my instagram!
Trump Tower there in the back. This was on my walk to dinner the first night.
View from my room on one the fleeting sunny days. Note the snow...

Chicago Field Museum - they had an evening reception there for us. Beyond amazing!
Very "Night in the Museum" esk
Got to try out some local Chicago fare at the food trucks who came to the hotel one night.
Gorgeous sunrise on my last morning in town.
Oh yeah, and another thing happened this weekend - I turned the big 2-6! I am now more than a quarter century old...

We had dinner with friends and a party at our house Friday night to celebrate, and I spent most of Saturday recovering. Sunday (my actual birthday) I spent some quality time with my family and got a little pampering with a massage.
All in all it was a great birthday weekend! Thank you to all who helped celebrate!
