Tablerock Hike

So for some reason I thought it would be really good to hike up a mountain after my 5k Saturday morning. Real lapse of judgement there because it was excruciating.

Some friends of ours invited us to hike Tablerock, our local "lookout" Saturday afternoon with our pups, theirs is Kodiak, Gunner's bff. It really is a great hike - good cardio and a solid climb. Not to mention the view. Tablerock overlooks the whole valley and has a big cross on the top that lights up at night. The view is spectacular and it is a really good spot to watch the sun set - but we were a little early in the day for that.
I lagged behind pretty much the entire time. I blame the 5k. And the 80 degree temps. Sunscreen sweat in your eyes is no bueno. But the pups had a ton of fun, we all got to experience the gorgeous view of Boise, and it was so good quality time with our friends Waco and Alyssa.
Tongues were definitely out on both pooches. It was hot!
It was such a nice afternoon and a good experience. Only my legs regretted it. I don't think they have had that much activity in one day in years. But running a 5k and doing a pretty intense hike in one day is grrrrreeeaaaat exercise and I let myself take Sunday off.

Then I had to go home and give Ted some love since he didn't get to come.
That evening I met some girlfriends for dinner. It was great to catch up and have some much needed girl talk. Then I migrated over to Waco and Alyssa's for more doggie friend time for Kodiak and Gunner and some Cards Against Humanity. If you have played that game you're really missing out. It's Apples to Apples for the dirty, politically incorrect mind... it mixes well with alcohol.

It was a chalk full Saturday and I wouldn't have it any other way. I had some much needed lazy time on Sunday prior to grocery shopping and healthy meal prep. I'll share the details soon!

Do you have a favorite spot to hike? Any pointers for people like me who are dying 5 minutes in?

TTFN Friends!
