The Creative Closet - All American Girl

Hey everyone, brace yourself because I'm trying something new today.
I've always wanted to do "fashion" posts, but haven't been ballsy brave enough to do one.

Insert #thecreativecloset. Jana and Maegan came up with this sweet little idea for us to all link up and share what we could find in our closets relating to the prompt each week.

So I was all jazzed to do my first Creative Closet post, especially with a "theme" like this, because it's 4th of July week!

 But then I tried it...

I realized A) I am not a good model and B) I do not have a model body.

I see those cute bloggers all the time - all tiny and petite and super fashion forward, and really I want to be like them in this post...

But I'm not.
So, please, please excuse these photos as my first fashion post attempt!
(PS you're allowed to laugh at them)

July1: All American Girl

I went very literal with this prompt - the good ol' red white and blue.
Shoes | Gordmans, Shorts | Maurices (old), Striped Navy Tank | Old Navy Exact ($4), Red Long Cardigan (old)
Add dogs - 'cause what's more American than that?
Bracelet Set | Old Navy ($2.99), Sunglasses | H&M
Can you see my sister photographer in the screen door reflection? Haha

Now go link up! I promise I'll get better at this...

TTFN,

  3. What are you talking about??? You look beautiful! Since when do models have to have petite bodies? Stupid media. You look fabulous and I'm so glad you joined in with us. Please join in again because feeling "natural" in front of the camera takes time. Xoxoxo

    1. Thanks Maegan, I think it was just first time jitters! Hopefully I'll get everything ironed out and feel confident after a few more link ups. Did I mention how much I love this link up?! Thanks for hosting!

  4. You look fabulous! I'm so glad you joined with us. And I agree with Maegen--it takes time to feel comfortable in front of the camera. Also, I don't have a "traditional" model body either, in that I'm not 5' 7" and I'm not a size 2. But really, that's not a realistic woman. I'm 5"4' and I'm a size 6.

You look real, and I love that. :) Also, I love your outfit. Especially the sandals. :)
