Currently...

It is November. NOVEMBER people. How did that happen?

I saw this link up yesterday and I thought it was a good avenue for this post. So here's all about me currently, you're welcome.

READING Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. But mostly used car listings. That's right, I'm taking the leap and trying to buy a new (to me) car. I love my good old Silver Bullet (Saturn) but she needs new tires which would cost at least $500. With over 130,000 miles on her I just can't keep investing in her and I think that $500 should go towards a down payment.

LOVING that James is home even if just for two short days that we spend mostly apart. At least I get to lay down next to him at night and watch our fur babies cuddle into him like they missed him as much as I did.

CREATING new things in the kitchen. With James gone so much this month I feel completely free to experiment in the kitchen. I'm the only one who has to eat it if it's horrible right?

WISHLISTING too many things. A new car, obviously. A computer monitor because James is going to build me a desk top for blogging at home (eeeeeee!!!!!). And everything from the Target Home Christmas aisle.

APPRECIATING my parents. With James gone I spent almost the entirety of last weekend with them. Apparently I'm not good at being alone. They are such a great support to me that I so often take for granted. They make me laugh, make me feel safe, provide priceless advice and love me through all my flaws. I couldn't ask for a better pair of parents.

Linking up with Jenna and Anne for the Currently link up!

And, currently I am part of a couple thankfulness projects, because hello, it's November and that's when we are most thankful. Here are the two link ups you should be a part of if you aren't already:

Big Picture InstaLinkFirst Jaelan and Paige are hosting the Big Picture InstaLink Party + Giveaway! It is an Instagram link up where you hashtag your photos to share your interpretation of each month's prompt. This month is "Give Thanks." So drop that #GiveThanksBPIL on your insta photos that show what you are thankful for and join the party! Plus they are doing a give away - go check Jaelan or Paige's posts for more details!

Second, although I am failing miserably, I am trying to stick with Crystal's 30 days of Thanks. Today's prompt is Belly Laughs. I am not quite sure how to interpret that, but I'm guessing it means laughing till your guy hurts... am I right?

Usually my belly laughs happen with my family. I mean who else can you totally laugh at? Kidding, I mean who else would laugh at you right in your face? Hahaha your family right?

I was reminded of one such laugh last week when we were frosting Halloween cookies. Sadly my sister wasn't with us and it was just my mom and I. We reminisced about how the following year we had laughed until it hurt with my little sister.

First there was the black cat cookie that my sister added crossed-eyes and a butthole to and called Gracie (her cat's name). Don't know if that would be funny to anyone but us.

Then came me trying to decorate with one of the tubed frosting yous buy at the store... chocolate I remember very vividly. Well they take quite a bit of pressure to squeeze out the frosting. Turns out there is such a thing as too much pressure and sure enough my tube EXPLODED. All over my cookie and all over me. It was in my hair, my ears, all over my clothes. I couldn't even get up to clean myself up because I was laughing so dang hard at myself. I found chocolate in my ear later that week and just busted up laughing again!

So there's a big dose of thankfulness to start this first week of November!

What are you thankful for and what link ups are you joining in on!!??

  1. Oh man do I feel you on the missing your dude thing. I swear my dog misses J as much if not more than me during the season. She gets so excited when he walks in, and if he doesn't "kiss" her goodbye before he leaves for the day she mopes around incessantly. Pets. ha! You should link your post up for stuff & things too! There are no rules and extra exposure for you!

  2. You are just the sweetest. Thanks doll. I hope you're enjoying the linkup so far!

I've had MANY belly laughs with my family, too. Sisters and moms (and dads) are the best, ever! I seriously cherish every minute I get to spend with them.

  3. My bf would have drill on weekends in the past and it was rough just during those weekends since we had limited contact throughout the week due to us living 2 hours away from one another. Now I get to see his ass all the time, not too shabby :P Hope you have a great one Laura! -Iva

  4. I would think belly laughs would be that you laugh so hard that you can't breathe or you're starting to cramp up in your belly. Also ends up being a really great ab workout in the end, ha! But that is super funny! I would die laughing if that happened to me, and then continue to laugh every time I would think about it after the fact.

  5. My husband does sales and will be moving out of state for four months come april. I used to go with him but now I have a job I love here. I'm dreading it! You'll have to give me all your best pointers.

  6. Well that's a good attitude - if you're home alone, you might as well have some fun with new things in the kitchen!

    Thanks for linking up!
