High Five for Friday!

Holy smokes, we made it to Friday.

I wasn't sure that was going to happen this week at the rate yesterday was going. My whole week flashed by and then Thursday showed up like an angry, slow turtle determined to make my day long and miserable.

Today I'm in the car with my momma headed to Mom's Weekend at the University of Idaho to visit my baby sister who is a Sophomore there. I love to visit my Alma mater and can't wait for a long girls' weekend!

Let's get to my five (very random) things this Friday:

1 | I completed my first ever Netflix binge. No, really, I was a virgin before this when it came to binging. I'd watch a few episodes, maybe 3 max, and then get busy and forget to go back to that show. Not this time. One full season, 14 episodes and one week of my life I'll never get back. Thanks Netflix.  I love you David Tutera and I'd do it all again if you come plan my non existent wedding.

2 | I had quite a bit of Instagram love for this little beauty (well at least by my standards) so I thought I'd share the recipe since I had a few requests.

When it comes to cooking from scratch I have a motto KISS. Keep it simple stupid. No really - especially for mac and cheese!

Ingredients: 1 1/2 cups noodle of choice (I used whole grain shells) cooked al dente and set aside, 2 TBS butter, 1/2 cup milk + more for desired consistancy (I used non-fat), 1/4 cup all purpose flour, 1/2 cup shredded cheese of choice (I used Kraft Fat Free Cheddar), 5-6 strips of cooked bacon, chopped (I used turkey bacon).

Do: Melt butter in sauce pan or low-med heat. Once melted add milk and whisk till mixed. Slowly add flour little by little, whisking till smooth. If it gets too thick, add some extra milk. Do the same with the shredded cheese, adding a little at a time and whisking it in to your now creamy cheese sauce. Pour completed sauce over noodles and add the BACON duh. Then stuff your face.

3 | I'm officially obsessed with my Kindle Voyage. It's small, light, easy to read and it magically is able to be any book in the world you want it to! I mean come on, you can't get any better than that! I've loaded it up with a couple books for my road trip this weekend. Oh and I just finished reading The Help on it - if you haven't read it DO IT!

4 |  Karli and Amy are hosting and Idaho blogger's luncheon and I am soooo excited! I can't wait to meet all the other lovely Idaho girls and make some new friends!

5 | And I know this is cheating because I already said this but I am beyond excited to get back up to my beautiful university this weekend! See you back here Monday ladies!

Have a great weekend!

  8. OMG I watched the entirety of The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt in 2 days. I know, it's short. Regardless, I lose so much time to Netflix. It's kind of a problem.

A blogger's weekend is so much fun! Love it.

And omg that mac and cheese. It looks divine.

  9. FIRST Netflix binge?! I applaud you for having willpower in the past! I get hooked on a show and then I can't turn away from it!

I love the idea of blogging get togethers! There are no other bloggers anywhere remotely close to me so I have to live vicariously through everyone else and love reading the recaps after them
