ANNOUNCEMENT: The Breakup Challenge with The Crazy Wise Woman

I know it's Christmas week and there is so much merriment and cookies going around that it's hard to see straight. That being said, it's also the time of year we make goals for the year ahead.

It's safe to say most of us probably have health and fitness goals on the docket for 2016. As much as I hate to use the new year as an excuse for resolutions, it also lines up with the easiest time of year for me to create a significant change in my life. So, so be it!

A while back I attempted Whole30. I was not overly successful, but I saw some significant changes and felt it was a good way for me to change my habits and addictions with foods. I was originally inspired by my good friend Amy @ The Crazy Wise Woman and her Whole30 journey earlier in the year.

When I found out Amy was interested in doing a second round, I couldn't wait to team up, because she #nailedit her first round and I knew she would be the perfect person to keep me accountable.

But why stop there? We're inviting ALL OF YOU to join us in our Breakup Challenge!!

The Breakup Challenge is just that - we are joining together to help one another "breakup" with our worst habits for 30 straight days. It can be anything you choose! Maybe it's that soda addiction. Maybe you just want to try low carb or even cut out sugar. It could be just chocolate or maybe alcohol - whatever you need to "breakup" with!

Amy and I will both be tackling Whole30, which is a breakup of a whole different level. We encourage anyone who would also like to take on the same challenge to do so! That means no added sugars, no grains, no dairy, no legumes, no processed foods and worst of all for Amy and I - no booze! I will post a little more about Whole30 next week if you are interested in the details.

This will become the grab-able button to share on your blog for the challenge.

The Breakup Date is January 4th. The challenge will start on that day, and Amy and I will both be sharing our experiences and updates the Tuesday of every week, starting the 5th with a kick off post! We will be sharing our journey on our blogs and social media with #breakupchallenge2016. Everyone is welcome to join in and share their successes (or failures) along the way!

The goal here is simple. If you can breakup with something for 30 days, you can kick that bad habit for good!

So what are you waiting for? Are you interested in joining the breakup party? If so, please let us know. If there is enough interest generated we will create a link up for each Tuesday of the challenge.

I hope you all will consider taking on this challenge with us, for a better you in 2016!

Now please excuse me while I go binge on a few things I'll be missing come January 4th...

  1. yay! i'm looking forward to your, and everyone's, updates. it's incredible how much food has an impact on your health, how you feel etc...since i overhauled my diet in 2012 (or was it 2011? it's been so long i can't remember), i have never felt or looked better. YOU GUYS CAN DO THIS!

  2. I love your post!!! I am so excited to rock this out with you! We are going to nail it together this time!!

  3. Whoa... good luck!! I've seen some other bloggers tackle this challenge and I think it's just too far out of my reach for now :) I will definitely be cheering you on from the sidelines though and I will (try to) break a habit of my own: biting my nails.
It sounds stupid, but I've been doing it since I was 7 and I can't get myself to quit.

  4. You guys already know that I am SO IN!!!! I have been terrible lately and feeling terrible as a result. I cant wait to kick my own ass next month!

  5. Good luck, ladies. I would try to join in but I either cannot give stuff up - specifically dairy & Mountain Dew. The stuff I could give up - booze - I don't do a whole lot to begin with. But I'll cheer you on from the sidelines! :)

  6. I'd love to, but we're on vacation in January in another country so no way could this happen. You go girls!

  7. Lol love this breakup idea. I so need this and some encouragement to get back into my smaller jeans. Let's do it!

  8. Sounds great!! I'm in! I love having some added accountability. Now to decide what I want to break up with.

  9. oh fabulous! i was so worried that y'all would want everyone to do the whole 30 and i'm not down with that. but i have plenty of crap i need to break up so definitely count me in.

  10. Looking forward to this challenge. I'm doing a pseudo Whole30 to get back on track!
