C U R R E N T L Y

Resolving to better myself in 2016. That comes in a lot of forms, like the Break Up Challenge, doing a full and hopefully successful round of Whole30, and to make every day a happy one. I'm also working on my "word" of the year. Have you seen those posts floating around? I think I have my word, I just need to flush out all the details of what it truly means for me in 2016.

Reading Looking for Alaska by John Green. I was excited to see this was available on Kindle from my library because I fell in love with Green when I read Paper Towns earlier this year. It was just a "fill the time" book but so far it's been engrossing. I just love his character development and writing style. I'm really hoping to crank up the reading this year, my Kindle making it so much easier for me having any book right in one hand!

Organizing all the things. Somehow the new year spurs this great organizing tizzy for me. I am not and organized person in general. I like to blame my creativity for that one (terrible excuse I know). Still it's been so nice purging the closet (almost 100 lbs worth of clothes!), discarding all my old Tupperware for new stack-able ones, and a deep clean and purge of the kitchen prior to the Challenge. A new year just feels better with a fresh start.

Loving Momentum Dash for Google Chrome. I saw this in Kasey's post and I'm obsessed. Pretty pictures, quotes, clock, weather AND to do list on your browser? Perfect little pick me up for the New Year if I don't say so myself.

Craving Diet Coke, bread and cookies. Damn you Whole30. These cravings won't last though, I just need to push through another week or two and they will be a thing of the past. Still, what I would do for one little sip of soda...

  1. I haven't had a craving so bad I wanted to kill someone for the item yet, but I did want to punch a few people in the face on Tuesday for opening diet coke cans in my office.....

I am on an organizing and purging tizzy as well!!! And I love it!!! Let's organize all the things!

  2. I haven't had Diet Coke in four days and I'm dying. I've had terrible headaches all week and I thought it was my body rejecting all the new veggies...then I realized I'm having actual Diet Coke withdrawals.

  5. I've only read The Fault in Our Stars but I need to read more of his stuff! 100 pounds of clothes?! That's amazing. Purging is my resolution, so I am super impressed/jealous haha. Cravings are my major problem...I need to curb them but I don't think I can give up bread and dairy. I just need to give up coffee creamer (which means I'd probably give up coffee...) and cravings for stuff like hot chocolate and other sweets!

  6. I am craving a beer or glass of wine in the evening more than anything else. It's purely habit though and if I can stick to replacing it I know I can create a new one. 2016 will be the year of the great purge for me... this I vow!!! And not "hopefully" successful, it will be successful or I will brave the midwest cold and come kick your ass!

  7. John Green is amazing! I love him! I read both Paper Towns & Looking for Alaska over the summer & loved them (I read The Fault in Our Stars before the movie hit the theaters). I really enjoyed Looking for Alaska more so than Paper Towns but not as much as The Fault in Our Stars. :)

  12. Organizing everything here too! I have become obsessed this year with decluttering. It just hit me that I can't take it anymore lol. I have had papertowns in my reading list for awhile, but I wasn't sure how I would like it! Happy New Year! Have a great weekend!
